Born and raised in New Jersey, I moved to Connecticut in 2003 to go to the University of Connecticut. After graduating in 2007, I worked as a social worker in CT for 2 years. It was an interesting and wonderful experience, but in 2009, I left my full-time job (in a bad economy...still not sure this was so smart!) to pursue a Masters degree in School Counseling...something I had wanted to do since High School. I lived and explored Boston for 2 years and graduated with my M. Ed in June 2011. Now I'm packing it up and moving it back to NJ to be close to family, friends, and to not have to pump my own gas :)
I'm starting this blog as I'm looking for a job as a school counselor and training for a half-marathon in September. In addition to learning about and experimenting with new recipes and exercise routines, I enjoy watching UConn Huskies Basketball (#1 baby!), indulging in trashy reality TV and celebrity gossip, good beer, and great friends. I strive to live a healthy and balanced life and hope to share some tips with you as I learn from the other healthy-living blogs out there!
